Roots

Where it began

Growing up surrounded by animals and family recipes sparked my love for this blog.There was a time when having a website was second nature to me.

Years ago, I actually started my career as a webmaster. Building pages, designing layouts, creating something from nothing — I loved it. I always had a site. It felt like an extension of me, a place where I could create freely and share what I was passionate about at the time.

Then life shifted. My interests evolved. Work took over. New projects pulled me in different directions — and as usual, when something grabs my attention, I go all in.

At some point, the website I had poured so much time and energy into was hacked. It was devastating. It felt like losing something personal. After that, starting over always felt harder than it should have. I knew I could rebuild… but emotionally, it wasn’t easy.

Years passed.

But here’s the thing about me: I don’t stay away from things I love forever. I may pause. I may redirect my energy. I may dive deep into something completely new. But creativity always finds its way back.

And now, after all these years, it’s time.

Whiskers, Whisks & Sonia is my fresh start. A softer one. A joyful one. A space where I can share my pets, my baking adventures, the books I fall into, and all the passions I throw myself into wholeheartedly.

I’m not afraid of trying again. I never really have been.
